Andrew Drayton (Bass, Baritone, 2nd Tenor)
I have always loved music. Growing up, I played the piano and listened to many songs from various groups. The Lord has blessed me with other talents, but out of them all, singing is the biggest one.
First off, I would like to say that if it weren’t for Dean Frank Runnels, I would have never known my true potential. Even though I was musical inclined, I wasn’t aware of my singing abilities. One day, when I was coming back from a field trip, Dean Runnels asked me if I could sing. I told him, I’m not sure. Then he asked me to sing something for him: he laid out a bass line from a song. And so, to my surprise, I actually did the bass part! From that day on, I was pretty ecstatic because whenever I sang, I felt like I was part of something.. and I was part of something. It was then that I started my ministry in music.
I was in a couple groups at school, but the one I enjoyed being with the most was my Acappella group. It felt so good and amazing to be able to sing harmonies with my fellow brethren, and to me it sounded like something that came from heaven! Being the bass, I felt like I was carrying my brothers along with me as we were singing, and the harmonies were tight! Even though I don’t sing much bass now, I can still get down! The wonderful times I spent at Garden State Academy were full of spiritual enlightenment, and many a time of just singing songs of praise!
Now, I’m a proud member of Immensus8., and am very happy we are taking our ministry to the world, one church at a time. And not only are we reaching out, but even within the group, we reach out to each other. So I am very thankful for the members in our group, and I truly feel as if we are all brothers. And we are; Immensus8.
God bless.
